Bonaire Mountain Biking
Bonaire mountain bike excursions showcase a delightful side of the Caribbean island that most people never get to see.
The little island of the Netherland Antilles is well known as a divers paradise with a variety of coral, sponges and sea fans that adds glitz to the crystal clear Caribbean sea. What is underwater is the real show that Bonaire has to offer but don't overlook what's above the water...
With most of the island being pancake flat and 200 miles of well-marked trails carved out by wild donkeys and goats, pedal pushers here are in heaven. And forget about these biking trails being crowded...everyone is underwater!
The different mountain bike trail routes vary in length and difficulty. You can pick up a free trail map and set out on your own or take one of the many guided tours offered. Early morning is the best time to set out, mid-day Bonaire is just too hot and dersert dry for an enjoyable ride. Bring plenty of water, sunscreen, snorkel gear and wear a helmet. You will pass by many opportunities to go for a snorkel side trip.
