Bonaire Horseback Riding

Is there anything better than horseback riding along a picture perfect Caribbean beach?

How about swimming bareback with your horse!

Sitting on top of a horse is the best way to travel to remote areas that other forms of transportation do not allow. While you are horseback riding in Bonaire you will have the opportunity to ride through desert, thick mangrove forests, local farms, beaches and even a swim with your horse in the Caribbean Sea.

Along the way you will experience Bonaire through the back roads, established trails of wild fauna (donkeys and goats) and hidden pathways. You'll see native species of cactus and aloe in the desert. You'll pass by wild goats and donkeys.

The mangrove forest has an assortment of tropical merry birds. Many of them exotic and rare. You will also go around the salt flats, which are the breeding ground to Bonaire's national bird, the Flamingo.

The riding tour takes you to Lac Cai where you will finish your ride with a refreshing and unforgettable swim in the ocean with your horse.

Bonaire has two riding stables to choose from:

The Riding Academy is a short ten minute drive from Kralendijk. Their stable is first rate and their horses are happy. They keep the tour groups small (2-5 people) so everyone is comfortable and looked after, especially if it's your first time on a horse. To make a reservation or for more information call 599-786-2094 or email info@horsebackridingbonaire.com.

Rancho Washikemba is just a few minutes drive from Kralendijk in Washikemba (Lagoon) right behind Bonaire Animal Friends. This is a family friendly stable and their horses are treated well. They prefer you to have some experience. An inexperienced rider will be given lessons before their tour. They offer lessons, tours and parties. To make a reservation or for more information call 599-788-8668 or email info@rancho-washikemba.
