Choose Your Own Golf Adventure In Bonaire
What? There is golf in Bonaire! I though Bonaire was a desert?
Yes, Bonaire has a course! Just for those enthusiast who can't get enough.
Sticking with the environmentally friendly aspect of the island the golf course is au natural. There are no sprinklers to keep the grass lush. That is because there isn't really grass (not the green stuff). Instead of playing on greens, you will be playing on the browns.
There are 9 -18 hole courses equipped with a couple of salinas. Just watch out for the donkeys, goats and rocks.
It is not uncommon to come across a herd of donkeys or goats on the course. If you do happen to be greeted by these animals remember that they are wild. Bring along some bread or fruit to feed them and just golf around them. Be careful not to hit them with your mighty swing though.
It is an extreme golfing experience you should try out at least once. There will be unexpected obstacles never experience before in golf.
The course is called Piedra So and translates to only rocks.
There is also a covered driving range, that gives shade while you perfect your swing.
The brown fees are $15 and the golf bag rental is $15. Piedra So is a rustic golf corse that lacks a clubhouse to welcome you. If you are planning on teeing up you must call ahead for a reservation 717 8684 or 795 1391.
If you're looking for a challenging adventure hit up Pierda So.
