Buddy Dive Resort

Hard core divers come back year after year to Bonaire's Buddy dive resort. That is because Buddys caters to serious divers: those divers who eat, sleep and breathe diving when they come to Bonaire. That is why most of Buddys emphasis is on scuba diving and not on a luxurious room that never gets used.

About the Diving

They offer the dive, stay and drive package, including breakfast, for one inclusive price:

  • You get a truck rental for a week to dive the exceptionally great 60 shore diving sites around Bonaire.

  • They make getting into the water faster and easier with their unique drive-thru two-lane scuba tank refill station.

  • Their house reef is great. Especially for night diving with their resident 6 ft. Tarpon named Charlie following you around waiting for you to flash your light on a tasty treat.

  • Buddy Dive resort boat dives are well organized leaving at 8:30, 10:30 and 2:30. The dive masters and boat tenders are experienced and friendly. Signing up for the boat dives is simple with a chalkboard on the dock.

  • They have a storage locker for all your gear right on the dock.

  • In case you have any problems with your gear they have a gear service station and a large rental gear shop, also on the dock.

  • They also have a retail shop full of diving equipment and diving souvenirs.

  • If you are having difficulty with underwater photography they have a support photographer booth available for an extra fee.

About the Rooms

Buddy Dive resort offers perfectly adequate accommodations for every divers needs. Nothing fancy or upscale, just a place to rest up and recharge before heading back into the water.

  • Hotel rooms for single or double occupancy (cheaper, but no kitchen).

  • Studio, one, two and three bedroom suites equipped with a fully functional kitchen. With a fridge, stove, microwave and all the necessities needed to cook and eat. A good tip is to bring tupperware for packing lunches and paper towels.

  • The rooms, as well as the entire resort, is very clean. There is a daily maid service. Don't forget to tip the maid a couple bucks everyday.

  • There is air conditioning in the bedrooms only. If the mosquitos are not a problem you will be comfortable with the Caribbean breeze coming through the windows.

  • There is WiFi. However it can be a bit spotty at times. If you are dependent on internet use there is a service on the island that you can use for relatively cheap.

*One last thing worth mentioning is the majority of the queen and king beds are two single/twin beds pushed together. They are in the process of doing renovations (2011) and upgrading. But for now expect your bed to have a dividing line down the middle.

About the Breakfast

If you are staying for single nights this breakfast will cost you $15.00 for weekly packages the breakfast is included. Features:

  • A made to order omelette bar.

  • Fresh fruit that is available on the island.

  • Yogurt, cereal, juice, milk, coffee and tea.

Buddy Dive has a great atmosphere. All of their employees are approachable, upbeat and friendly. The guests and employees share the same passion for diving as you do.
