Bonaire Restaurants Are Filled With The Kind Of Yum That Makes You Hungry For More

It's not just the deliciousness of Bonaire restaurants, it's the atmosphere, setting and the people that make it a part of the Bonaire package. It's also a great way to find out about some up-to-date dive sightings like the elusive sea horse, the “only a mother could love it” frogfish, and the cuddly yet misunderstood hammerhead shark. (not that I would condone eavesdropping on the conversation of others, wink wink…)

After diving with these amazing creatures it's difficult to see some of the fish being served for dinner. Usually your best bet is to go with the catch of the day, it's always super fresh and scrumptilicious. Just make sure you're a responsible visitor and check out the list of sustainable fish species so you’re not eating anyone into extinction. But not to worry- I’ve yet to see deep-fried seahorse on the menu.

The Bonairean culinary arts are the merging of many different cultural influences. Over the years, trading and migration between the Caribbean islands has helped develop the array of infused cultures in their cooking. They serve up authentic Caribbean flavors but also cater to those seeking a more familiar dish, whether from Europe, The Americas, or elsewhere.

This island sure does like to feed people. There are over 75 restaurants in Bonaire. Even the pickiest eater will find their tastebuds tickled with the array of pleasing flavors. Some of Bonaire's restaurants are bustling beach bars and some are open-air docks with views of the waters down below. Most are owned by the same people who are cooking your meals.

Be sure to check out happy hour. That's when you will find the restaurants and bars a-buzz with activity. There's not much nightlife on this island so the happy hours are big in Bonaire and you can't beat the prices.

For the adventurous or romantic, Bonaire is a great place for picnics. You will find some great picnic spots as well as several options for groceries or prepared lunches.
